Commendatore in Nancy

David Leigh returns to the role of Commendatore in Mozart’s Don Giovanni after singing it this summer at the Festival d’Aix-en Provence and making his first appearance on a European stage. Opera News described his Commendatore as having “a human dimension and an interesting father-like presence” and Olyrix said “his bass voice, noble and deep, gave the Commendatore sepulcral overtones”

This time he’ll portray the aggrieved father and ghostly apparition at the Opéra National de Lorraine. The Jean-François Sivadier production will take place from September 29 until October 10. Rani Calderon conducts.
